Licensed Psychologist offering Individual Therapy
Lead Your Life with Clarity, Courage, and Conviction.

Tricia Steeves, Ph.D., LP

Welcome

I'm so glad you're here.

I offer private, individualized therapy for adults navigating high-functioning lives, career evolutions, shifting identities, and the life transitions that call for clarity, adaptability, and a deeper connection to purpose.

My approach is collaborative and thoughtful, grounded in the belief that mental wellness is an active, evolving process.

Growth isn't about finding something to fix. It's often about finding your edges, reclaiming your energy, realigning with your values, and stepping forward with insight, confidence, and intention.

If you're ready to deepen your resilience, sharpen your self-leadership, and design your next chapter with intention, I’m here to walk alongside you — with skill, presence, and deep respect for your journey.

This is an investment in your evolution — and in the life you are ready to lead.

How I work

I work with individuals who find themselves at the crossroads — career evolutions, shifting identities, leadership transitions, emptying nests, perhaps divorce or separation - people who are yearning to find their footing.

Our work offers a strategic, grounded space to identify your priorities, expand your psychological flexibility, and build a new foundation for meaningful change. My approach is integrative and tailored to your goals. I draw from evidence-based and mindfulness-informed practices.

Together, we explore the patterns that have shaped your life, strengthen your capacity for self-trust and resilience, and open new pathways toward a more authentic, intentional future.

How is therapy different from coaching?

While therapy and coaching can both be growth-focused, there are important differences.

As a licensed psychologist, I am trained to work with both present challenges and unresolved patterns from the past that may be impacting your ability to move forward.

Therapy offers the depth and clinical skill to address underlying emotional, relational, or psychological barriers if they arise — while also focusing on building clarity, resilience, and intentional growth for the future.

In our work together, we honor where you’ve been, understand what may be holding you back, and actively cultivate the life you are ready to lead.

A little about me

I'm a licensed counseling psychologist with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate growth, change, and the deeper questions that life inevitably brings.

My work is grounded in the belief that growth isn’t just about overcoming struggle. It’s about deepening your connection to yourself, nurturing resilience, and opening to new chapters of life with greater trust and intention. Whether you're navigating career decisions, adjusting to a changing world, or feeling the quiet call toward a life that feels more true and intentional, therapy can offer a grounded space to reflect, recalibrate, and grow.

Outside of my work, you’ll often find me photographing small, ordinary moments, getting lost in a good novel, or simply watching my dogs race across the yard — small daily practices of presence, renewal, and perspective.

I believe therapy is an invitation — not just to heal, but to evolve, lead, and live with greater clarity, courage, and meaning.

Am I the right fit for you?

Therapy is most powerful when there’s a strong personal connection — when you feel seen, understood, and gently supported in the growth that matters most to you.

I work best with thoughtful, high-achieving individuals who find themselves ready for change. Whether its navigating leadership transitions, either personal or professional, making career decisions, struggling with the discomfort of changing life roles, or experiencing the quiet call toward a life that feels more true and intentional.

My clients are often motivated by a deep desire to live with greater clarity, resilience, and authenticity — not to become someone new, but to more fully step into who they already are.

If you’re seeking a space to realign with your values, deepen your emotional agility, and move forward with greater self-trust and purpose, we may be a good fit.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to begin.

 FAQs

  • Yes! I am able to accept insurance in the states in which I am licensed.

    In Nevada, I accept Aetna.
In Utah, I accept Aetna and Optum/United
In Colorado, I accept Aetna, Optum/United, and Anthem BCBS

I am paneled with insurance through Alma. To see the most updated insurance information, check out my Alma profile: https://secure.helloalma.com/providers/tricia-steeves/

  • If I am considered out-of-network for your insurance plan, I will not be able to bill your insurance directly. However, I can provide you with a superbill — a detailed receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your specific plan.

To better understand your benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking the following questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    • Is telehealth/virtual therapy covered?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it has been met?

    • What percentage of session costs will be reimbursed once my deductible is met?

Keep in mind that using out-of-network benefits typically requires a formal mental health diagnosis and may involve meeting specific documentation requirements set by your insurance company.

  • This is entirely up to you. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket for various reasons, including:

    • Greater Privacy: Your therapy records are kept entirely between you and your therapist, without sharing information with insurance companies.

    • No Formal Diagnosis Required: Private pay clients are not required to meet criteria for a mental health diagnosis to access services.

    • More Flexibility: Therapy can be tailored to your goals and needs, not restricted by insurance definitions of "medical necessity."

    • Long-Term Growth Focus: We can work at a pace that fits your growth, rather than focusing only on symptom reduction or short-term treatment plans required by insurance.

Whether you use insurance or opt for private pay, we can discuss what feels most aligned with your needs and goals.

  • PSYPACT is an agreement between participating states that allows licensed psychologists to provide teletherapy across state lines legally and ethically. If you are physically located in one of the 42 states that participate in PSYPACT, you can work with a PSYPACT- authorized psychologist, even if they live elsewhere.

Check if your state participates: PSYPACT Map

  • No. PSYPACT sessions are private-pay only at this time. Contact your insurance providers for more information about out-of-network coverage.

  • A superbill is a specialized receipt that includes all the information your insurance company requires to process an out-of-network claim.

If you choose this option, you would pay for sessions out-of-pocket and then submit the superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Please note that many insurance plans require you to meet an out-of-network deductible before any reimbursement is issued.

To better understand your coverage, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking about your out-of-network benefits for behavioral health services.

  • I am 100% virtual and am unable to offer in person sessions at this time.

  • You can reach out through my contact form or email me directly to request an initial consultation. I’ll follow up to schedule a brief, 10-15 minute free phone call.

If we decide to move forward, I’ll send intake paperwork through a secure online portal and we’ll schedule your first session from there.

  • I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

I understand that life happens, and I’ll always do my best to be flexible when possible, but the following policy helps me hold space for all clients consistently and respectfully.

First late cancellation is chalked up to “life happens.” No fee.

Second late cancellation is a $50 fee.

Any late cancellations afterward is a full session fee.

Any no-call-no-show is a full session fee.

Please note that insurance will not cover cancellations and no-shows.
